For many in our community, Christmas isn’t the season of joy and celebration it’s often made out to be. With the rising cost of living, loneliness, personal and mental health challenges, this time of year can be incredibly difficult. This is why we are encouraging small acts of kindness leading up to Christmas Day.
At the EveryMan office, we've done some research and compiled a list of local Christmas appeals where you can lend your support, contribute, and create a meaningful impact this holiday season.
The Hundreds for Thousands appeal aims to provide $100 to 1,000 families across Canberra, Queanbeyan, Yass, Cooma, and Goulburn this festive season. Donations help ease the burden for families in our region who are struggling.
For just $26, you can fund a life-changing call to Lifeline’s crisis support line. This small but powerful gift can provide hope and connection to someone in need. Donations can be made at Book Lovers Lane in Fyshwick or online.
Communities at Work Christmas Appeal
Communities at Work calls for donations to help families who might otherwise miss out on Christmas. Whether it’s food, toys, or gift cards, your contribution can make a big impact.
Vinnies Canberra/Goulburn Giving Tree
Vinnies are supporting families experiencing financial stress. Donating gifts or pantry items ensures parents don’t have to choose between food and presents this Christmas.
At EveryMan, we believe no one should feel forgotten or alone during the holidays—or any time of year—no matter who they are or what they have done.
Your donations directly support our efforts to assist men in the community who are facing homelessness, mental health challenges, or isolation. Your contribution can help us provide critical services, support programs, and resources to those who need it most.
Together, we can ensure no one is left behind this Christmas.
Other Ways to Give Back
Many local organisations are making a difference this holiday season. Here are a few more you can support:
- Karinya House for Mothers and Babies: Offering critical support to new mums and their children.
- Roundabout Canberra: Providing essential items to families in need.
- Rise Above – Capital Region Cancer Relief: Helping cancer patients and their families ease emotional and financial burdens.
By coming together, we can help ensure no one in our community is left behind.
